Bernard J. Bouvier

West Springfield - Bernard J. Bouvier, 85, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

He leaves his three children, Bernard J. Bouvier, Jr. and his wife Brenda of West Brookfield and their children, Jill, Kara & Brent and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Layla, Stella, Ethan and Miles; daughter, MaryAnn Mastroianni and her husband Stephen of Watertown, CT, and their son Matthew, and great-granddaughter Scarlett, and David Bouvier and his wife Patricia of East Longmeadow, and their children, Patrick, Nicholas and Lauren, and great-grandson Cole; one sister, Eleanor Bradley of California; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife, Mary T. (Shean) Bouvier in 1998.  He was born and grew up in Springfield before moving to West Springfield 53 years ago.

Mr. Bouvier owned and operated Russell’s Auto Body Shop in Springfield for 25 years before retiring in 1997.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran.  He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in West Springfield, the former Italian Club on Worthington Street and was an avid golfer.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM in St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baystate Health Foundation, Inc., 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01199 or to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.  Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
