Blanche R. (Allen) Odiorne

Warren - Blanche R. (Allen) Odiorne, 98, formerly of Winthrop Terrace, died Monday, February 20, 2017 at her home at Orchard Valley in Wilbraham.

She leaves two sons, Harold Odiorne. Jr. and his wife Patricia of Southwick and Gary Odiorne and his wife Kathy of West Warren; four daughters, Beverly Burr of Willimantic, CT, Beryle Carey and her husband Frank of Monson, Lois Fijol of Charlton and Janelle Morin and her husband Gerard of Brimfield; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Harold Odiorne, a son, Robert Odiorne and four siblings, Harry, George, Ronald and Bernice.   She was born in West Brookfield, daughter of the late Harry and Carrie (Benson) Allen.

Mrs. Odiorne worked in Bookkeeping for the former Diamond National in Thorndike and then for Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge before retiring in 1978.

Blanche was a former member of the Federated Church in Warren and the Rebekah Lodge and enjoyed reading, knitting and sewing.

A Funeral Service for Blanche will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Breast Cancer Fund, Attention Contribution Services, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445 or to the Warren Fire Department Ambulance, P.O. Box 608, Warren, MA 01083.
