West Brookfield - Gordon L. “Roundy” Richards, 77, of West Brookfield died on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Hudson, Florida. 

He leaves his wife of 54 years,  Alice M. (Wallace) Richards of West Brookfield; his daughter, Jennifer (Richards) Carlson and her husband Mark of West Brookfield; two sons, Gordon L. Richards, Jr. and his wife Alma of Worcester, and Steven Richards and his wife Kelly of West Brookfield; two brothers, Donald and Harold Richards, both of West Brookfield, and six wonderful grandchildren, Chase, Ethan, Thimjos, Aiden, Brittany, and Josh. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was born in Ware, son of the late G. Gordon and Dorothy (Coney) Richards, and a life-long resident of West Brookfield.  He and Alice have owned a winter home in Florida for 12 years, and they have made many friends while there.

Gordon was a tractor-trailer truck driver and worked for the former Hannigan’s Express and R.M. Sullivan Company from where he retired.  His passion was flying and he had his private pilot’s license.  He was also an avid boater; he and his family have been members of the Lake Wickaboag Boat Club for 50 years.

Calling hours for Roundy will be held  on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10AM -12PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main Street in West Brookfield.  A private burial will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 540, West Brookfield, MA 01585 or the Baystate Regional Cancer Program at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital, 85 South St., Ware, MA 01082.
