North Brookfield – Kenneth S. Parker, Sr., 82, of Evergreen Street, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 15, 2016 at his home.

He leaves three sons, Kenneth S. Parker, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Kevin S. Parker and his wife Justyna, and Terry Parker; two daughters, Donna Parker and Sandra Parker; two sisters, Joyce Stone and Lucille Warner, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Carol A. (Greenough) Parker, as well as five siblings, Leon, Richard, Ernest, Norman, and Doris.   Ken was born in Spencer, son of the late Walter and Alice (Bemis) Parker, and attended David Prouty High School Class of 1952.  He lived in Spencer for 25 years prior to moving to North Brookfield where he has resided for over 50 years.

Kenneth was a machinist for over 41 years, and worked at Warren Pumps, Inc. in Warren and Stanco Tool & Die Company in Southbridge prior to retiring in 1999.

Mr. Parker was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War.

Ken was a member of the Sampson AFB Veterans’ Association, the Gaudette-Kirk Post 138 American Legion in Spencer, and the National Birmingham Roller Pigeon Association.  He enjoyed playing cribbage with his wife, hunting and fishing, and ran the chick hatchery at the Spencer Fair for more than twenty years.  Quiet by nature, he always had a smile or a kind word to say.

At Ken’s request, funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of his family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the North Brookfield Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 73, North Brookfield, MA 01535.
