Warren – Kenneth R. Stanhope, 71, of Warren, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home. He was born in Southbridge, the son of William and Mildred (Ford) Stanhope. He was predeceased by his sister, Mildred Lewis and two brothers, Richard Stanhope and William “Sonny” Stanhope, Jr. He leaves Jesse Vessella, who he considered his son, and Jesse’s wife Amy (Hebert) and their daughter Makayla Vessella or Warren, two sisters, Carol Smith and Gail Stanhope, and long-time friends Carol Vessella of Warren and Phil Vessella of Auburn. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stanhope was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country honorably as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. When he returned to civilian life he owned two taverns and then a variety store. He was the a past commander of V.F.W. Post 8606 in West Warren. He loved watching westerns and baseball on television and listening to oldies.
Ken loved his family and close friends, always putting their needs above his. He was a big man with an even bigger heart and will be missed by all of them.
