Richard Lawrence Leroux, 72

Brimfield - Richard Lawrence Leroux, 72, of Brimfield Massachusetts passed away in his home in the early hours Monday morning, August 22, 2016, following a long term battle with numerous health issues.

Richard is preceded by his father Leon Leroux; mother Nora (Dupell) Willey, brothers Donald Leroux, William Leroux, Larry Willey, and Kenneth Willey.

He leaves behind his faithful, loving, and devoted wife of thirty years Eleanor (Thompson) Leroux, his first wife of sixteen years Dianne Lynda (Aiken) Leroux, his step mother Marilyn Leroux, sisters Lee Anne (Leroux) Lines and Mary Lou (Leroux) Bell, his brother James Willey, his three children Richard Lawrence Leroux Jr., Tina Marie Leroux, Shane Michael Leroux, and his two step daughters Gerri Lee Beliveau and Lori Anne Vezina, grandchildren Netasha Lee Leroux, Seth Michael Cardinale, Ashley Brooke Vezina, Katie Lee Gavin, Jacob Tyler Cardinale, Morgan Blaze (Vezina) Campbell, Ethan Michael Leroux, Emma Jordan Leroux, Abigail Rose Leroux, and Benjamin Daniel Leroux.

Richard battled in death much the way he did in life; with relentless passion and determination. In the days preceding his passing, Richard was surrounded by family and friends continually. Time was spent listening to Country music, singing, storytelling, sharing memories, and as was our way, using humor to lighten the heaviness in our hearts.

Every life is measured by its ability to leave a positive imprint upon the world. Richard's generous heart always found a way to help someone in need. His unprecedented work ethic provided a daily example of sacrifice and stamina, of what it takes to get things done. His boundless charm and humor continually shone a light in the darkness for any discouraged or downcast heart.

We will continue to embrace the gift of life and to treasure the lifetime of memories shared.

A Celebration of Life event will be held Thursday, August 25, 2016, from 6 to 9 PM at Time Out in North Brookfield.

A Service for Richard will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield and all are welcome.
