West Warren - William K. Pratt, 92, of A Street, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the home of his daughter in Marstons Mills.

He leaves one son, Kenneth Pratt and his wife Laurette of Ware; one daughter, Nancy Pratt-Hellwig and her husband Mark of Marstons Mills; a brother, Howard Pratt and his wife Sylvia of West Warren; a sister, Norma Pratt of West Brookfield; five grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, William, Zoe and Rose; four great-grandchildren, Alex, Mackenzie, Emma and Evan and many loving nieces and nephews who always called him Uncle Billy.  He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years Eleanor L. (Starzyk) Pratt and four siblings.  He was born in West Warren, son of the late William J. and Anna (Chabot) Pratt and was a lifelong resident.

Bill retired from Shop-Rite grocery chain and worked for Popular Markets, First National and several other stores as a department manager and skilled meat cutter.

He proudly served in the United States Army during W.W. II, and received the Purple Heart medal after being wounded in the D-Day Invasion in Normandy, France.  Bill never talked about this experience till much later in life.  He was an unsung hero.
