Edward Campbell Obituary

Ware - Edward R. Campbell, 90, of Ware, died on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center with his loving family by him.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Corrine E. (Kent) Campbell; his son, Robert K. Campbell and his wife Sandra Deauseault of Ware, his daughter, Diane M. Mobley and her husband David Moore of Ware and his son, Dale R. Campbell and his wife Patricia Casey of New Hampshire; two brothers, Leslie Campbell of Belchertown, and Leonard Campbell and his wife Mary of Connecticut; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Cheyanne, Adrianna, Amanda, Kaley, Justin, and Casey; two great-grandchildren, Haylee and Jacob, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Dawn M. Campbell, his brother, Robert Campbell, and his sister, Nancy McCloud.   He was born in Ware, son of the late John W. and Myrtle  (Andrews) Campbell, and was a life-long resident of the town.

Mr. Campbell enlisted in the United States Navy when he was only 16 years old, and was very proud to be a Navy veteran.  He served during W.W. II on the U.S.S. Saint Paul as a gunners mate and was deployed in both the American and Asiatic Pacific Theatres.  He also witnessed the signing of the Treaty ending World War II. 

Ed owned and operated the Crystal Springs Dairy Farm in Ware and was named Farmer of the year 1984 before retiring in 1987.

He was a member of United Church of Ware where he was a choir member for countless years. In adddition he served as the president of the ski club on Lake Wickaboag for many years and was also a member of the American Legion Post #123 of Ware.

A Funeral Service for Ed will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11:30AM in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St. in Ware.  Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:30AM.  Burial will be in  Aspen Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Church of Ware, 49 Church St., Ware, MA 01082.
