John S. (JJ) Jamilowski, 93
Ware - John S. (JJ) Jamilowski, a life-long resident of Ware, died on Sunday evening, April 15, 2018 at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer.
He leaves his wife of 68 years, Jeannette D. (Mazur) Jamilowski, and his daughter, Linda A. Jamilowski, also of Ware. JJ also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was born in Ware, son of the late Albert and Viola (Skowyra), who were immigrants from Poland.
Mr. Jamilowski was a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving with Company A in the 369th Medical Battalion as a Corps Medic in both the Rhindeland and Central European theater campaigns.
Following his military service, John held a variety of jobs throughout his long life. He worked as a machine operator at the former Ware Shoe and Brookfield Athletic Shoe Companies in East Brookfield for several years. He also worked as a night watchman, and as a general handyman. John enjoyed following Duke University sports, and was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
A Funeral Mass for John will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00AM in Saint Mary's Church, 60 South Street in Ware. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery following the mass. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00PM in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street in Ware.
