Mary L. (Conway) Berthiaume

Belchertown - Mary L. (Conway) Berthiaume, 89, of Front Street died on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow.

She leaves three sons, Raymond F. Berthiaume and his wife Vicenta “Vicky” of Ware, Edward Berthiaume and his wife Belinda of Ware, and Michael Berthiaume and his wife Carol of Clarkdale, AZ; two daughters, Ann Berthiaume of Machias, ME, and Elaine Fricke of Springfield; her sister, Edna Bucciaglia of Oxford; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great granchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Edward W. Berthiaume in 1993, her grandson, Shawn, her niece, Diane, her great-grandson, Logan, and her 3 sisters, Gert, Edith, and Cora.  She was born in West Brookfield, daughter of the late Bernard A. and Florence (Moulton) Conway.  She lived in West Brookfield until she married Edward, and has lived in Ware over 70 years. 

Mary worked for several years as a Machine Operator at the former Ware Shoe Company before it closed, and then in the Sampling Department at the former Wm. E. Wright Company for 15 years before retiring.

She was a long-time member of  the former Mt. Carmel Church, and All Saint’s Church in Ware where she served as a communicant.   She was also a member of the Daughters of Isbella, and the Ware Senior Center.  In her free time, she enjoyed being with her family, reading, travel, and playing bingo. 

A Graveside Service for Mary will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 1:00PM in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Greenwich Road, in Ware. There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cardiac Care Center at the Baystate Medical Health Foundation, Inc., 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01109.
