Raymond A. DePauw

Raymond A. "Ray" DePauw, 92, of West Brookfield died on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

He leaves Joan, his wife of 66 years.  He also leaves his brother-in-law, James VanDyke and his wife Kathy, and their 3 children and 6 grandchildren.  Originally from New Jersey, Ray was born in West Paterson, NJ, the only child of John and Ethel DePauw, and has lived in West Brookfield for over 40 years.

Mr. DePauw is a United States Navy Veteran of WWII, where he served on the Destroyer Escort USS Roy O. Hale in the European, Pacific, and American Theater campaigns. 

Raymond worked out of the Worcester office for Massachusetts  Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 30 years, retiring in 1986.

Raymond was a loving and devoted husband.  He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Ware, and will be missed by Joan, and his fellow Brothers and Sisters.  Ray served several congregations in his 60 years of dedication to his God Jehovah.

A Memorial Service for Ray will be held in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 124 Gilbertville Road, in Ware on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 2:00PM.   There are no calling hours.  Due to allergies, it would be appreciated if those attending the service refrain from wearing fragrances or perfumes. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 540, West Brookfield, MA 01585.  Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
