Rita Kubert Obituary

West Brookfield- Rita D (Bolduc) Kubert - died peacefully at The Christopher House of Worcester surrounded by loved ones on January 31, 2018.

She passed away after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, and now joins her daughter in heaven Debra Roberts who predeceased her February 1, 1991.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 65 years Robert P. Kubert, Sr., her five children; Linda Lopez and her husband Dinin of South Carolina, Susan Kubert of New York, Laurie Caron and her husband David of Worcester, Robert Kubert, Jr. and his wife Alysia of Brookfield and Ronald Kubert and his wife Sue of Charlton. She also leaves her brother Armand Bolduc of Florida, her 11 grandchildren; Danielle Wnek, Heather Rourk, Ryan Roberts, Scott Roberts, Joshua Trudeau, Amy Chapman, Shaun Trudeau, Matthew Caron, Nicole Karns, Emily Caron, Tyler Kubert and her five great grandchildren, Gavin, Gage, Jodi, Darian, and Paloma as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rita was born to Regina and Armand Bolduc, October 21, 1934, in Worcester.  She was born into a large family of 8 before moving to West Brookfield where she resided for over 50 years with her husband and 6 children.

For Rita, family was the most important aspect of life. Nothing brought her more joy than taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rita was known for her infectious smile, sense of humor, and radiation of kindness wherever she went.

One thing that brought her constant joy was her love for music. Even throughout her battle with Alzheimer's disease, music was the one thing that brought her comfort, joy and peace.

We remember Rita doing what she loved; knitting her beautiful afghans, playing games with her grandchildren, participating in water aerobics at the Southbridge YMCA and cooking her famous spaghetti and meatballs and apple pies.

She now finds peace and we will forever remember her waving goodbye out the picture window.

A private Celebration of her Life will be enjoyed by her family and a burial will be held privately in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Christopher House Activities Fund, 10 Mary Scano Dr., Worcester, MA 01605.  Varnum Funeral Home., Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
