West Warren - Robert V. Morrison, 88, of West Warren died on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at his home with his loving and caring family by his side.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Patricia A. Morrison; two daughters, Deborah Mikus and her husband Stephen of Dracut, and Barbara Drinkwater of Chatham and Don Drinkwater of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Daniel, and Kelley Mikus, and Jason, Robert, Michael, and Laura Drinkwater. He also leaves his brother, William Morrison and his wife Elizabeth of Palmer and two sisters, Moreen Kardas and her husband Richard of Ware, and Mary England and her husband Dave of Stafford Springs, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his brother John Morrison. He was born in Three Rivers, son of the late William and Mary (McKee) Morrison, and has been a resident of West Warren for over 60 years.
Bob worked at William E. Wright Co. for 35 years, before retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the George Whitefield United Methodist Church in West Brookfield, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Palmer Lodge of Masons, the West Warren Senior Center, and a former member of the West Warren Fire Department. Bob enjoyed working around his yard and flower gardens, and was meticulous about his lawn. He liked to work on cars, and also wouldn’t pass up a trip to the casino or to Cape Cod. His happiest times though, were those spent with his family.
Mr. Morrison was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and was always proud to be called a marine.
A Funeral Service for Bob will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00AM in the George Whitefield United Methodist Church, 33 West Main St., in West Brookfield. There are no calling hours, and everyone is asked to meet at the church. Burial will be held privately in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the George Whitefield United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 576, West Brookfield, MA 01585.
