Yvonne D. (Noel) Belcher

Ware - Yvonne D. (Noel) Belcher, 89 died Monday, July 10, 2017 in Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer.

She leaves one daughter, Karen Lanier and her husband Daniel of Ware; three grandchildren, Jason Lanier, Sarah Yurkunas and her husband Joseph and Nathan Lanier and his wife Lauren; three great-grandchildren, Connor, Avery and Merryn, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Paul W. Belcher in March.  She was born in Lowell, daughter of the late Amedee A. and Jennie (Thibodeau) Noel, spending her childhood in different areas of New England before settling in Ware, where she attended Ware High School. She later moved to New York City where she lived for 45 years. Upon retirement, she moved back to Ware in 1994 to be near her family.

Mrs. Belcher worked in Ware for the Bell Telephone Company before moving to New York City where she went into freelance showroom and print modeling.  She later worked as an executive secretary 26 years for Berman International Knitwear and 12 years for Leslie Fay in the fashion industry before retiring.

Yvonne was a member of the United Church of Ware, the Ware Senior Center and the Ware Golden Agers, where she served as their Sunshine Lady. She was very involved with the Mary Lane Hospital auxiliary, serving as co-president and vendor coordinator. She also volunteered in the MLH gift shop, and participated in the SMK Elementary School reading program.

Funeral Services for Yvonne will be held privately and there are no calling hours.  Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, Inc., P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.  Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware is assisting her family with arrangements.
