Alfred A. "Charlie" Fountain, 86
Warren - Alfred A. "Charlie" Fountain, 86, of Burbank Ave., died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his home.
He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of 64 years, Jane L. (Sampson) Fountain; one brother, G. Richard Fountain of Maine and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruby Sheridan and Marie Antoinette Colliss and three brothers, Ernest, Milton, and J. Lionel Fountain. He was born in Ware, son of the late George A. and Blanche M. (Trudel) Fountain and was a lifelong resident of Warren. He graduated from the former Warren High School in Warren.
Alfred worked for Fountain and Sons Fuel Company for 50 years before retiring. Al and Jane also owned and operated Quaboag Tours for over 25 years.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War serving in the 45th Division, 179th Tank Company.
A Funeral Mass for Alfred will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM in St. Paul's Church in Warren. Calling hours will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., W. Brookfield. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Warren. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Alfred's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
