Alfred N. Hurtubise

March 15, 1944 — January 2, 2022

Charlton - Alfred N. Hurtubise, 77, of Brookfield and recently of Charlton, ascended to Heaven on Sunday, January 2, 2022 surrounded by family at Harrington Memorial Hospital.



He leaves behind those he cherished so deeply, including his wife, Laureen Hurtubise of Charlton, his sons, Norman Scott Hurtubise and his wife Anne of N. Oxford, Michael Hurtubise and his wife Wendy of Edgewater, FL, Jason Hurtubise and his wife Athena of Steinhatchee, FL, James Hurtubise and his wife Lanaee of Old Town, FL, Jesse Chaisson and his wife Teneille of Spencer, and James Chaisson and his wife Shannon of Farmington, MO; his daughters, Sandra Hurtubise of Fitchburg, Angela Egan and her husband William of Fort Myers, FL, and Cheri Cooper and her husband Benjamin of Charlton; his sister, Ann West of Leominster, twenty grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son Samuel Hurtubise, his grandson Adam and his granddaughter Brittney.  He was born in Leominster, son of the late Norman R. and Irene (Cote) Hurtubise.



Alfred was a Steelworker at Kom-Tek in Worcester for 37 years, before retiring.



He was a devout Christian who focused his life on family and God.  Never one to sit idle, he spent many days on golf courses all around New England, especially at the Leicester Country Club. When at home the television was most likely tuned to his beloved New England Patriots or the Boston Red Sox.  Alfred also enjoyed dancing, camping with his family, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his pets.



A Funeral Service for Alfred will be held on January 6, 2022 at 10:00AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 E. Main St., in West Brookfield.  Burial will follow at the Brookfield Cemetery on Route 9, in Brookfield.  There are no Calling Hours.  At the family's request, masks will be required for all in attendance.
