Thorndike---Alice (Hevey) Noreau, 80, a beloved wife , mother and grandmother died on April 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Maria (Roy) Hevey. Alice was a lifelong resident of Ware, before moving to Thorndike two years ago. She graduated from Ware High School in 1952, where she met her husband of 60 years, Lionel "Skip" Noreau. Alice and her husband spent many winters in Fort Myers, Florida, which they considered their second home. Alice retired from Moulton's Insurance Agency. She was a devout Catholic and was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, until recently joining All Saints Church. Alice loved planting and tending to her perennial gardens. She was a member of the Ware Golden Agers and enjoyed their bus trips. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her two granddaughters Allison and Jacqueline, who spent their summers at her home on Beaver Lake. She leaves behind her husband Lionel "Skip" Noreau. She was the mother of three daughters, Susan T. Peterson and her husband Robert of Palmer, Diane Belknap and her husband James of Greenville RI, and Camille Heltman and her husband Ken of Sarasota FL. Alice will be dearly missed by her two granddaughters Allison Belknap Esq. and Jacqueline Belknap. She also leaves behind her sister Theresa Coache of West Brookfield and her brother Henry Hevey of Chicopee, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Alice was predeceased by two brothers Robert and Leo Hevey. Funeral Services will be held on Friday May 2nd at 11 am in All Saints Church, 17 North St., Ware. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Charbonneau Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Baystate Mary Lane Hospital Oncology Dept., 85 South St. Ware ma. 01082, for their wonderful care. The family would also like to thank Baystate Hospice for their support during this difficult time.
