Anthony J. "Tony" Krasnecky, Jr.

April 11, 1931 — January 21, 2017

Ware - Anthony J. "Tony" Krasnecky, Jr., 85, of Longview Ave., died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 21, 2017.



He leaves his wife of 61 years, Jennie A. (Nowakowski) Krasnecky; two sons, Robert Krasnecky and his wife Anne and Paul Krasnecky and his wife Anne of Ware; one daughter, Susan Portier of Ware; one brother, Walter Krasnecky and his wife Beverly of Ware; four grandchildren, Kristopher, Dawn, Ryan and Joshua and several nieces and nephews.  Anthony was born in Ware, son of the late Anthony J. and Veronica (Jamilowski) Krasnecky and was a lifelong resident.



Mr. Krasnecky worked for 27 years for the Ware Water Department.



He was a member of St. Mary's Church and their Drum Corp and traveled around the East Coast playing in parades.  When he was younger he was one of the athletes on the Ware High School Championship Football team who was inducted to the Athletic Hall of Fame.



Tony Was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and loved traveling, hunting, fishing and most of all being with his family.  He had a magnetic smile for anyone he came in contact with.



His family would like to thank Dr. Loke and the Oncology Department staff for the terrific care that they gave to Tony.



There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM.  A calling hour will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St. in Ware. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with full military honors.
