Barbara L. Aiken, 66
East Brookfield - Barbara L. (Smart) Aiken, 66, of Cove Street, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Norman F. Aiken; three children, Rebecca J. Millette and her husband Daniel, Jessica L. Aiken and Jeremy F. Aiken; three grandchildren whom she adored, Caleb Aiken, Michael Earl, and Marissa Sypek; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 siblings, Shirley Robert, Lloyd Smart and Richard Smart.
She was born in Ware, daughter of Leonard E. and Eleanor B. (Barbier) Smart, and lived in East Brookfield most of her life. Barbara worked for the former William E. Wright Co. for 32 years as a Carpet Weaver Inspector before retiring in 2000.
She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Patriots fan who enjoyed golfing and going to the beach in the summertime with her family. Her most favorite times though were spent with her grandchildren and watching their sports and other events.
A Funeral Service for Barbara will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 at 12:00PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 11:00AM -12:00PM in the funeral home.
