Barbara, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born on October 2, 1946, in Schenectady, NY, she lived a life centered on family, kindness, and love. She shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Gary Staiti, and together they raised four daughters: Rebecca Cantwell of Belchertown, Tamara Young (Derrick) of Smithville, Tennessee, Dawn Anderson (James), and Leslie Wallace (Anthony) of Ware.
Barbara was a proud Nana to Shawn (Heather), Joey (Shannon), Kristy, DJ (Ashleigh), Olivia, Camryn, Dominique, and her eight great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories. Known for her warm heart, home-cooked meals, and generous spirit, Barbara made everyone feel welcome. She loved cooking for family and friends, and her recipes and traditions will live on through those she loved.
Barbara was also known for her award-winning dart skills, love of music and dancing, creativity, and excelled at everything she attempted. She proudly retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of dedicated service.
Above all, Barbara loved people. Her kindness, humor, and unconditional love touched countless lives and will never be forgotten. While her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort knowing she has been reunited with her mother, sister, and best friend.
All are invited to her calling hours on Sunday, June 7, 2026 from 5-7:00pm at Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street, Ware, MA 01082. A Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, June 8, 2026 at 10:00am at All Saints Catholic Church, 17 North Street, Ware, MA 01082 followed by burial in Quabbin Park Cemetery, Ware, MA.
