Warren - Bernard A. Wilmot, 79, of Warren, died in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in UMass Harrigton Hospital in Southbridge.
He leaves his wife Rita of 53 years; his children, Scott Andrews and his wife Cindy of Leominster, Sean Wilmot and his wife Christine of Worcester, Jonathan Andrews and his wife Joelle of West Warren, and Patty Wilmot of Warren. He leaves grandchildren Megan, Alyssa, Teiggierre, Shawn, Tyler, Kevin, and Kelsey. Great grandchildren Natalie, Alexander, Rylee, and Cameron. He also leaves his two spoiled pet cats Ms. Sassy and Vinny. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Michelle, and his sister, Pat Manning. He was born in Westfield, son of the late Arthur and Cecil (Lataille) Wilmot.
Bernie worked as a machinist at Perkins Machine Shop in Warren. He worked as a full-time patrolman for Ware and an Auxiliary police officer in Warren. He was a patient manager at the former Monson Developmental Center and a Security Supervisor at several state facilities before retiring from the state of MA. When not working, he really enjoyed fishing in the local rivers and lakes. Unlike hunting, he was actually pretty good at it! He also enjoyed working on older cars.
At his request, funeral services for Bernie will be held privately. Burial will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
