Betty D. Hubbard

West Brookfield - Betty D. (Wood) Hubbard, 88, of West Brookfield, passed away surrounded by love and family on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield.



She leaves her daughters, Terri Paquette and her husband Jim of West Brookfield, Valerie Korzec of West Warren, and Karen Zebrowski of Ludlow; her sons, George Hubbard and his wife Joanne of Southbridge, Tracy Hubbard of West Warren and Lloyd Hubbard of West Brookfield; her 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Lawrence W. Hubbard, her son, Timothy Hubbard, her sisters, Elsie Gardener, Leah Weeks, Claire Doyle and Pearl Manor, and her brother, Warren Cowan.  Betty was born on September 5, 1934 in Diana, NY to Lloyd and Ethel (Andruss) Wood.



Betty was a kind, sweet and gentle woman, with open arms and an open home to anyone. She was a devoted wife and mother, who cooked Sunday dinners that everyone looked forward to, especially her famous macaroni soup. She also started a Christmas cookie tradition and also loved to read her romance novels and crochet gifts for her family and friends.



A funeral service for Betty will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 10am in the George Whitefield United Methodist Church, 33 West Main Street, West Brookfield, with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in West Brookfield. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 4-6pm in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield.
