West Brookfield - Blanche I. (Pratt) Allen, 97, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 with her loving husband of 71 years by her side.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Everett S. Allen and several cousins, nieces and nephews including her cousin Marion Gagnon who has given her so much loving care and support over the last couple of years. She was born and grew up in West Brookfield, daughter of the late Florence Pratt and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Allen worked as an assembler for the Gavitt Wire & Cable Company of Brookfield for 46 years before retiring.
Blanche and Everett have been members of the First Congregational Church in West Brookfield for 80 years as of Easter Sunday.
A Funeral Service for Blanche will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 540, West Brookfield, MA 01585.
