Blanche G Atwood

Blanche R. Atwood, 98, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday August 20, 2016 at the Elaine Center in Hadley, MA. Blanche was born on September 16, 1917 in Sudbury, Vermont, daughter of Remi and Clara Gratton.  She was a member of the United Church of Ware, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Mary Lane Hospital Auxiliary. Blanche spent many hours making her crafts. As a member of the hospital auxiliary, she organized a group to crochet baby blankets and bonnets for the newborns at the hospital. She is survived by her daughter Elaine Padoven and her husband Guy of Salida, Colorado; son Charles and his wife Eileen of Woodbridge, Virginia; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband Raymond. Blanche will be laid to rest at the Aspen Grove Cemetery on Pleasant Street in Ware. A graveside service will be held on August 26, 2016 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Church of Ware, 49 Church Street, Ware, MA 01082.Charbonneau Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
