Leicester - Rev. Carl "Les" Wells, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2015 after suffering a massive stroke.
He leaves his loving wife of 63 years, Ida M. (Baur) Wells; four children, Dave Wells and his wife LaVonne of Ormond Beach, FL, Edie Maskell and her husband Pastor Michael Maskell of Findlay, OH, Pastor Tim Wells and his wife Donna of Boise, ID and Tom Wells and his wife Martha of Lewisville, NC; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was born in Springboro, PA son of the late Carl H. and Gertrude (Worden) Wells and lived in many places across the eastern part of the U.S.
Rev. Wells was a Missionary Pastor who developed and helped 9 churches. His greatest love was ministering and helping others.
A funeral service for Pastor Wells will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Pilgrim Baptist Church, 33 West Brookfield Rd. in North Brookfield, MA. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Springboro Cemetery in Springboro, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pinecrest Baptist Church, 379 Greenwood St., Millbury, MA 01527 for their Building Fund, where Rev. Wells was an Apollos Missionary with Baptist Church Planters. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
