Carol Szczepanek Ducey, age none of your business, passed away Saturday evening after a long period of not listening to her doctor. Born April 29, 19stillnoneofyour business, Carol lived her entire life in the town of Ware, which is an achievement in itself if you think about it. While you're thinking about it, I'll continue...
A proud graduate of Ware High School (back when that still meant something), Carol was faced with the choice between work and starting a family. Oddly enough she chose both, which I guess makes her a pioneer for equality, just not enough of one to have any sort of holiday in her honor. Over the course of her life she had two husbands, four kids, and about 700 jobs. Her places of employment included but were not limited to Pathfinder High School, Wright's Ribbon Emporium, and Family Dollar. She also found time to serve on the Conservation Commission, which probably explains the current state of the environment, and the School Committee, which explains the state of your children. She is survived by two sisters, her loving daughter Danielle, and three other children whose names escape me at the moment. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Carol Ducey Memorial Fund FBO Danielle Ducey through Country Bank in Ware. A service will be held Thursday, October 8, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Charbonneau Funeral Home.
