Ware - Cecile J. Chapdelaine, 99, formally of Ware, died on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield.
She leaves her sisters, Rachel Sorel, Madeline Cebula of Ware, and Sylvia DeMaio of Belchertown, a brother, Edward Sorel of Gilbertville, a sister-in-law, Louisa Sorel of Ware, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, George Chapdelaine in 2001, as well as her sisters Yvonne Vadnais, Lorraine Forgit, and Claire Charbonneau, and her brothers, Roland, Raymond, and Bernard Sorel. She was born in Ware, daughter of the late Edmund and Lucia (Roy) Sorel and was a life-long resident of Ware.
Cecile worked at Selvin and Gordon, where she learned how to sew and became a beautiful seamstress. She also worked at Frederics Knitted Fabrics. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed sewing and traveling with her husband George.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center for the kind and compassionate care given to Cecile during her 7 ½ years there.
A Graveside Service for Cecile will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 1:00PM, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Ware. There are no calling hours and everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street in Ware is assisting her family with arrangements.
