Charles Maxie Allen

Charles  M.  Allen, 82, passed away at home on Tuesday Oct. 18, 2016. He was born in Barre son of the late Arthur and Ruby (Bullard) Allen.  He leaves his wife of 55 years Sandra L. (Dennis)  Allen, his daughter Charlene "Chellie" Allen, her husband Peter Dobrowolski and their son Curt Dobrowolski Allen; his son Charles "Chas" Allen and his son Samuel Allen all of Hardwick, as well as his siblings Catherine Knight of North Brookfield, Arthur Allen Jr. of Spencer, Sylvia Petrin of West Brookfield , Carol Dulak of Ware, Barbara Niemiec of West Brookfield and Dorothy Cebula of Nantucket. He was predeceased by his siblings June Beausoleil , James Allen  and Marjorie Allen. He worked as a cement truck driver for R.T. Curtis, and DeFalco Concrete. He served his country in the US Army. He attended Hardwick High School. He was a member of the First Universalist Church of Hardwick, and Teamsters Local 170. In his retirement Charles enjoyed spending his time between North Port FL  and Hardwick. A graveside service will be held on Saturday Oct. 29th  at 10:30 am in Hardwick Cemetery, North Rd. in Hardwick. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the First Universalist Church of Hardwick, PO Box 72, Hardwick MA 01037. Charbonneau Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
