Charles R. ""Charlie"" Wilson, Jr.

East Brookfield - Charles R. "Charlie" Wilson, 81, died on Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.
He leaves his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Klosek) Wilson; two daughters, Susan Rokowski and her husband, Robert of Beverly Farms, and Donna Wilson and her husband, Michael Notartomaso of Holden; three grandsons, Alex Rokowski and his wife Libby, and Peter and Jared Rokowski, and one great-grandson, John Charles Rokowski. Charlie was born in East Brookfield, the only child of Charles R. and Muriel A. (Harper) Wilson. He was predeceased by an aunt to whom he was especially close, Mildred Haynes of North Brookfield.
Charles owned and operated the C.R. Wilson Insurance Agency before retiring in 2001. Mr. Wilson was a United States Coast Guard Veteran.
Charlie was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed doing so many things, such as stargazing, camping, riding his motorcycle, HO model trains, bicycling, and distributing the Daily Bread devotionals at church. He was a great talker, and was a real people person. He loved kids, and was thrilled to be a grandpa and great-grandpa.
He was a member of the former Meridian Sun Lodge of Masons in North Brookfield, served as a long time member of the Zoning Board of Appeals in East Brookfield, and was also a former member of the Greenville Baptist Church in Leicester.
A Funeral Service for Charles will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 12:00PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main Street, West Brookfield. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 12PM prior to the Service. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery in East Brookfield at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, 34 Washington St., Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 or www.curealz.org .
