Brookfield – Cindrea E. “Cindy” (Pearson) Macaruso of Brookfield, died on Friday,
January 17, 2025, unexpectedly at home.
Born January 23, 1959, in Framingham, MA. to Arthur Pearson and Evelyn (Pearson)
Prue. She is predeceased by both her parents and her son David Macaruso Jr. She leaves
her husband of 37 years, David P. Macaruso; her daughter, Michelle Dragon, and 3
grandchildren, Ryan, Finleigh, and Tristan. She also leaves her sister, Kimberly Jenkins
and her husband Austin of Sturbridge, and her brothers, Dana Pearson and Lance
Pearson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cindy worked as a direct care aide in the Overlook in Charlton prior to retiring. She
enjoyed the beauty of nature and her trips to Maine including Ocean Park, and Camp
Ellis. She enjoyed gardening and volunteered at the Sturbridge Rotary Club’s
Community Garden.
Her most favorite times were those spent with her family and with her grandchildren.
She was a long-time member of St. Anne’s Shrine in Sturbridge where she could find
peaceful and prayerful solace walking through the outdoor shrine. She was also in the
church choir for several years.
Cindy adored her grandchildren and spent many days making memories with them at Old
Sturbridge Village, local orchards, festivals, and along the shores of Maine.
Her daughter and her could talk for hours. They enjoyed the love of the beach, tea, a good
cheese, hallmark movies and walking their neighborhoods together.
She had a huge kind heart and a beautiful soul. She loved unconditionally, always willing
to help and constantly making new friends in her community. Cindy had a quirky sense
of humor that made everyone smile. She will be deeply missed by many.
