Brookfield - Claire B. (Boucher) Murphy, 87, of Merrick Avenue, died on September 27, 2016 at Harrington Memorial Hospital.
She leaves four children, Ronald J. Murphy and his companion Diane Conner of East Brookfield, Edmund J. Boucher and his wife Patricia of Brookfield, Patricia Robertson and her husband Lyle of Oregon and Timothy Murphy and his wife Jean of South Carolina; one brother, Emile Boucher; five sisters, Pauline Herbert, Theresa Hayes, Rose Cassavant, Ruth LaBonte, and Janet Morin; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Timothy J. Murphy in 1996, their son, James Murphy, as well as siblings Louis, Victor, Francis, Charles, Dorothy, and Betty Ann. She was born in East Brookfield, daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (Courville) Boucher and lived in Brookfield most of her life.
Mrs. Murphy worked for several local companies before going to work at Brookfield Wire Co. as a wire drawer & spooler, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Brookfield.
A Funeral Mass for Claire will be held at St. Mary's Church in Brookfield on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM in Varnum Funeral Home, Inc. 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Brookfield Rescue Squad, 4 Central St., Brookfield, MA 01506.
