Craig O Robbins

March 23, 1962 — April 16, 2022

Ware - Craig Oke Robbins, 60, of Ware, tragically lost his life on Saturday, April 16, 2022 after many years of living in pain and struggling with addiction.

Craig was born on March 23, 1962 to Bernard and Janet Robbins and lived most of his life in Ware.  He was a wild child with a heart of gold and was loved by everyone that knew him.  He was a good friend, loving father, and devoted grampy.  He loved to play guitar, write music and ride the many Harley Davidson motorcycles he owned throughout his life.  He also loved cooking and collecting rocks.

Craig spent his working life as a logger "killing trees" as he would say and also as an operating engineer for Local 98.  He was highly respected in his field and got to travel the country running his forwarder.  His dedication to work would eventually be his downfall.  After suffering a back injury at work, he was over prescribed pain medication and became addicted.  Our healthcare system failed him, like so many others, with no mention of addiction or withdrawals and he eventually turned to illegal substance to ease his pain.  Despite his own struggles he was an incredibly kind person with a huge heart and loved to help others.  He will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his father, Bernard Robbins of Brookfield; his brother, Barry Robbins and his wife Jane of North Brookfield; his daughters, Amber Robbins of Newport, VT, Ashley Guzik and her husband Christopher of Ware, and Lareece and Crystal Berthiaume of Ware as well as his grandchildren, Gwendalyn, Loralei, Adaline, Dustin, Mackenzie, Christopher, Jadrien and Nathaniel.  He also leaves behind his and Lisa's beloved dog (son) Hunter.  He is predeceased by his mother, Janet Robbins, his brother, Glen Robbins and the love of his life Lisa.

Calling hours for Craig will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 5 to 7pm in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street in Ware.  Following the calling hours, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Aspen Street Rod and Gun Club, 58 Aspen Street in Ware from 7 to 9pm.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Journey to Recovery Community Center, 212 Prouty Drive, Suite 3, Newport, VT, 05855
