North Brookfield – Cynthia M. “Cindy” Green, 85, of North Brookfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves her children, Cheryl Hague, Brenda Sullivan and her husband Jon, Walter Green and his wife Susan, and Leighann Chace; her grandchildren, Crystal, Michael, Sean, Ryan, Cody, Jill, Amanda, Zack and Tyler, and 15 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings Donna Hodson, Donna Leadbetter, Joanne Steele, Karen Brown, Leon Litchfield, Jr., Virginia Guyette, Francis Pierce, Beninia Pierce, Bryant Pierce, and Victoria Mulliss as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Roy S. Green in 2016, as well as her sister Priscilla Ford and her grandson Derek Chase. She was born in Hyannis, daughter of the late Benoni H. and Leola R. (Foster) Pierce and has lived in North Brookfield for over 55 years.
In addition to raising her family, Cindy worked as a salesclerk at the former Morton’s Department Store in North Brookfield, and the Fair Department store in Spencer. Later, she worked as a secretary at E.J. Cross Construction, and the former H.R. Salem Transportation Company for several years prior to retiring. She also worked as the secretary for Wagon Wheel Park in Brookfield.
Cindy was a proud member of the First Congregational Church of North Brookfield, where she taught Sunday school as well as being part of many other church activities. She loved working and maintaining her and Roy's "Green Valley Farm." In addition, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, Pastor John and Joan of Overlook Hospice for their kindness and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Cindy's memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Services for Cindy will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in East Brookfield followed by a Celebration of Life in the near future.
