Ware - Daniel H. Gravel, Jr., 48, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his home.
He leaves his wife of 10 years, Lisa M. (Dineen) Gravel; one son, Mario Shonio of Lancaster, PA; three daughters, Misi Boyer of Chicopee and Honey Shonio and Danelle Gravel of Ware; his mother, Brenda Bobrowski of Loxahatchee, FL; three brothers, John Gravel, Shawn Faford and Paul Gravel; three sisters, Sheila LaFlower, Diane Mangicotti and Laurie Bobrowski-Woodward; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Southbridge and grew up in the local area before moving to Ware 18 years ago.
Mr. Gravel worked as a caretaker for Meridian Associates in Belchertown.
He was a Veteran of the Persian Gulf War serving in the United States Army and Air force and was a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church in North Brookfield.
A Funeral Service for Daniel will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Pilgrim Baptist Church, 33 West Brookfield Rd. in North Brookfield. A Calling hour will be held prior to the services from 10 to 11 AM in the church. Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 1, 2014 in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gravel Family Fund, c/o Pilgrim Baptist Church, P. O. Box 185, North Brookfield, MA 01535. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
