Spencer - David R. Lapierre, Sr., 73, of Spencer, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his son, David R. Lapierre, Jr. of Bushnell, FL; his daughter, Kami Rabbett and her husband, Daniel Rabbett, of Middleburg, FL; his long-time girlfriend, Sandra Whitman; his four grandchildren, Samantha Derosier and her partner Kenny Bell of Jacksonville, FL, Amber Derosier and her partner, Steven Barg, of Bushnell, FL, Wayne Derosier and his partner Skye Porlier of Ellington, CT, and Ella Grace Rabbett of Middleburg, FL; his great-granddaughter, Charlotte Jean Barg; as well as his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Carol J. Lapierre, in 1997; and by his sisters, Arlene Letourneau and Diane Huckins. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Robert and Patricia (Small) Lapierre.
David worked as a machine operator at Saint-Gobain, the former Norton Company of Worcester for many years where he retired in 2008. He was also a proud United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era where he sailed upon the Joseph P Kennedy Jr.
David was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and an incredible friend to many. He enjoyed motorcycling, traveling, board games, gambling, playing golf, and spending time with his devoted dog Cindy. Davids passion for family vacations was evident. Whether it was camping in parks, exploring small towns up and down the east coast, or lounging on tropical beaches, David ensured that every moment was cherished. His eyes would light up with joy as he watched his children experience new places throughout their childhood and beyond. David leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and memories that will forever be adored by everyone that knew him.
A graveside service for David will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00am in the Worcester County Memorial Park Cemetery, 217 Richards Avenue, in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ARA Auburn Dialysis Center, 771 Southbridge Street, Suite 1, Auburn, MA 01501, who were of tremendous help and comfort to David and his family.
