Dean K. White, 73
West Brookfield - Dean K. White, 73, of West Brookfield, died Monday, July 27, 2015 at Rose Monahan Hospice surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
He leaves his beloved wife of 49 years, Sally A. White; two daughters, Heather A. Goodridge of Sterling and Heidi L. White and her husband Paul O. Pelletier III of Andover as well as three grandchildren, Taylor A. Goodridge, Lindsay C. Pelletier, and Matthew P. Pelletier. He graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1965 with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering.
Mr. White was a Registered Professional Engineer and was employed by Alden Research Laboratories in Holden for 39 years before retiring.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a Naval Commander.
Dean was active in both professional and community activities. He was a member of national and local Engineering Associations, a member of the Mayflower Descendants and Sons of the American Revolution. He served on the West Brookfield Conservation Commission and was a member of the Rotary Club of the Brookfield's, serving as President one term. He was a Ford Mustang enthusiast and was a member of the Shelby American Club.
Funeral Services for Dean will be held privately. There are no calling hours and burial will be in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
