Ware - Dennis J. Logsdon, 83, of Ware, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family in the early morning hours on Friday, October 11, 2024, at UMass Harrington Hospital in Southbridge.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Carol A. (Sicotte) Logsdon; his two daughters, Leanne M. Lund and Jennifer A. Harpin; as well as five grandchildren, Mitchell, Alec, Jeffrey, Austin, and Wyatt. He also leaves his two sisters, Penny Low and Karen Seymour, and his faithful companion, his Chihuahua, Taco.
Born on September 26, 1941, In Vallejo, California to William H. Clarke and Dorothy J. Clarke, (Fields). Dennis grew up in and around Barstow and San Bernardino California, raised by his mother Dorothy and stepfather Thomas H Logsdon.
Upon graduating he joined the U.S. Navy in July of 1959. He served as a Sonarman aboard the U.S.S. Decateur and later the U.S.S. Grand Canyon until 1965.
After his service in the Navy, he had a lengthy career as a Semiconductor Engineer for Digital Equipment Corp. Upon retirement he and Carol moved to Dunedin Florida enjoying many years there with family and friends. Dennis enjoyed kayaking in and around Honeymoon Island, and Tampa Bay. He was an avid wildlife photographer and used many of his photos for reference in his Wildlife Scratchboard Artwork. Throughout his lifetime Dennis' work has been nationally renowned in Art magazine publications, galleries and private collections.
A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be held at a later date. Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware is assisting his family with arrangements.
