Diane M. Shea

Canaan, ME - Diane M. Shea, 59, of Canaan, Maine and formerly of West Brookfield, died on Friday, January 28, 2022, after being fatally struck by a vehicle while out walking with her dog.



She leaves her mother, G. Theresa Shea of West Brookfield, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as work colleagues and friends in Maine.   She also leaves her special pets, "Izzy" her Border Collie, and "Gideon" her cat.  She was born in Ware, daughter of the late Raymond A. and G. Theresa Shea.



For the past 10 years, Diane worked as a Special Education Technician in Regional School Unit 18, but for the last few years she was at the Messalonskee Middle School in Oakland, Maine.  Always keeping busy, she also worked as a summer tutor and a bus monitor throughout the district.  Her love for students was evident every day, and they loved her as well.  She was also a Camp Director at Lake George Regional Park in Canaan.  Diane was big hearted and was always there for the students, especially the ones who needed extra care and support.   She will be missed immensely by the students and staff throughout the school community.

Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
