Doris J. Bartoszek

December 5, 1929 — January 14, 2018

On January 14th, 2018, Doris Bartoszek received an offer you can't really refuse. Not only did she receive a cool set of wings, but she was reunited with friends and family that she hadn't seen in years. Most importantly, the love of her life and husband of 65 years, the late Joseph Bartoszek.

During her 88 years on this Earth Doris taught us many lessons, among them being that putting yogurt in lasagna wasn't such a great idea. What Doris lacked in culinary skills, she more than made up for in generosity of spirit and a kind heart. She was always more concerned with the needs of others rather than her own, except when it came to playing Bingo.  It could get ugly on the days that she didn't win.  Doris was also a saver.  What some people might view as junk, she viewed as treasure.  She was literally the reason why restaurants no longer leave jams and jelly on the table, because you never know when 500 packets of grape jelly might come in handy.

Her greatest accomplishment would have to be that she was the world's greatest grandmother. Sorry all other grandmothers, but she had the mug to prove it.

Doris was born on December 5th, 1929 in Winooski, Vermont, daughter of the late Peter and Aurora (Laverdier) Piche.

She is survived by her three children, Rita Wilmot, Sandra Crampton and Joseph Bartoszek Jr.; her nephews Peter, Billy, and Michael and niece Cheryl; and seven lucky grandchildren, Scott, Jonathan, Sean, Jeffery, Justin, Patrick, and Timothy.

A Graveside Service for Doris will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 1:00PM in New Saint William Cemetery, West Main St., in Ware.  Immediately following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held in the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ware.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Doris's name to a cancer charity of your choice.  The family would also like to thank the staff at the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center who treated her like family, and for their compassion and exceptional care during her stay there.  Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street in Ware is assisting her family with arrangements.
