North Brookfield - Dorothy F. (Thompson) Sandman, 98, of North Brookfield passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2023 with her daughter by her side.
She leaves her son, Stephen J. Sandman of North Brookfield, her daughter, Jayne Kolbe and her husband Bruce of Fiskdale, her son-in-law, Peter J. Mimeault and his wife Rebecca of Sturbridge, her grandchildren, Amy Beth Sampson of Woodstock, CT and Jeffrey Sandman of Spencer; her great-grandchildren, Noah John, Ellary Joyce and Jameson John. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, John J. Sandman, her daughter, Joyce Mimeault, her son, Bruce Sandman, her grandson, Brent Mimeault and her sister, Barbara Ryback. She was born in North Brookfield, daughter of the late John and Bertha (Doane) Thompson.
Dorothy was a Nursing Assistant for many years for the North Brookfield Schools.
"Big Dot" had many interests which included auctions, flea marketing, furniture refinishing, toll painting and jewelry making.
She was also a member of the First Congregational Church of North Brookfield.
Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held privately.
Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
