Edmond P. Cassavant, 75
West Brookfield - Edmond P. Cassavant, 75, of Chapman Ave., died Monday, January 4, 2016 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Beverly J. (Smith) Cassavant; three sons, Duane and his wife Wendy and Wesley and his wife Charlene of West Brookfield and Mark and his significant other Tammy of Palmer; five siblings, Andrew, John, Stephen, Leona and Elaine all of Spencer; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Cassavant. He was born and grew up in Spencer, son of the late Andrew F. and Florence E. (MacDonald) Cassavant before moving to West Brookfield in 1963.
Mr. Cassavant worked for the Farm Bureau Corp. and then as a welder and fabricator for the former Chase Precast in North Brookfield before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in West Brookfield and a member of their Knights of Columbus Council 11080. He was a former member and Lieutenant of the West Brookfield Fire Department which he served on for 12 years and former member of the Wickaboag Sportsmen's Club and was a man who loved tractors.
A Graveside Service for Ed will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM in Pine Grove Cemetery in West Brookfield. There are no calling hours. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
