Hardwick - Edward J. Banas, Jr., 71, of Hardwick died on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at home.
He leaves his son, Derrick D. Banas, his wife and their son; his daughter, Morgan A. Banas; his brother, Michael Banas; and a sister, Cynthia Lamoureux. He was born in Hadley, son of the late Edward John and Irene (Kamsky) Banas.
Edward was an Insurance Appraiser and operated Ed Banas Auto and Appraisals in Hardwick.
He had a love for sports cars and owned many Corvettes and Nissan Z's over the years. He was a football player of the University of Massachusetts Minutemen football team and continued to support the sports team over the years as a proud holder of season tickets. He loved to travel the country, driving to Mackinac Island, Montana to see old faithful, the Black Hills in South Dakota and the Grand Canyon.
Services will be held privately.
