West Brookfield – Edward A. Perry, 87, of West Brookfield, died on Sunday morning, May 4, 2025, at his home with his family.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Elaine E. (Therrien) Perry; his daughter, Joanne Perry of Pepperell; his sons, Edward A. Perry, Jr. and his wife Jayne of Lunenberg, and Eric Perry and his wife Nicole of New Ipswich, NH, along with four grandchildren, Emily, Leanne, Ethan and Rachel. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his only sister, Elizabeth (Perry) Martins. He was born in Ware, son of the late Isadore and Sophie (Czajka) Perry, and grew up in Three Rivers.
Mr. Perry enlisted in the United States Army when he was 18, serving shortly after the Korean War ended. Following the service, he and Elaine were married and shortly after began raising their family in West Brookfield together.
Ed worked as a sales representative for Warner-Lambert, a product distributor to retail stores. He later owned his own company for 15 years, E & J Enterprises, LLC, a wholesale flower supplier to florists throughout the area. He was active as a local little league coach.
After retirement, Ed loved to play golf as often as he could. He played on local courses as well as throughout New England. He also volunteered at the local senior center. He and Elaine enjoyed traveling together as well. They went to Alaska, Iceland, Aruba, Bermuda, Hawaii, China, San Francisco, and New York as well as many of the National Parks.
Calling hours for Ed will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 11AM to 1PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main Street in West Brookfield. Military Honors will be presented at 1PM by a United States Army Honor Guard team. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Brookfield Rescue Squad, P.O.
