Elizabeth E. Urban

West Brookfield - Elizabeth E. "Betty" Urban, 90, of East Main Street, died on Sunday, July 30, 2017.



She leaves her daughter, Nancy Stevens and her husband Bruce of Ware; seven grandchildren, Michael Tache and his wife Julie of Florida, Stephen Tache, Kevin Stevens of Ware, Shawn Stevens and his wife Deanna of Sunbury, OH, Darrick Stevens and his wife Kristy of Plainville, Kristi Thibault and her husband Jeff of Oxford and William Urban and his wife Sarah of Merrimack, NH; eleven great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Megan, Andrew, Cameron, Nicholas, William, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Nicholas and Ethan and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Henry W. Urban, two children, William J. Urband and Patricia Ann Tache, a sister, Dorothy M. Mitchell and her close friend and companion of many years, Stanley Urban.  She was born and grew up in North Brookfield, daughter of the late William H. and Katherine A. (McDonald) Bottomley and later lived 20 years in Brookfield and 20 years in Port Richey, Florida before moving to West Brookfield in 1992.



Mrs Urban worked in administration at the Community Hospital in Port Richey, FL for 17 years before retiring in 1992.



She was a member of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in West Brookfield and a Charter Member of the Capt. Albert H. Prouty VFW Post 3439, Women's Auxillary in North Brookfield.



A Funeral Mass for Betty will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in West Brookfield.  A calling hour will be held prior to the Mass on Friday, August 4, 2017 from  9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main Street in West Brookfield.  Burial will be in  St. Joseph's Cemetery in North Brookfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, P.O. Box 563, West Brookfield, MA 01585 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
