Eric W. Barrett

June 17, 1973 — July 8, 2024

Barre - Eric W. Barrett, 51, of Barre, died on Monday, July 8, 2024 at his home, following a long battle with glioblastoma cancer.

He leaves his sons, Anthony W. Barrett and his fiancé Allysha, and his granddaughter  Ayla of Palmer, and Luke G. Barrett of Spencer; his parents Henry W. and Delores, Dee, (Salvo) Barrett of West Brookfield, his brothers, Michael and his wife Terri of West Brookfield, and Steven and his significant other Kim of Leicester; his niece Emily, nephews Jeffrey, Nicholas and Zachary, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who loved him very dearly.  He also leaves his companion, Becky Gauthier with whom he lived for several years, and his extended family - Larry and Janie Gauthier, Jody, Brandy, Ramy, Sarah, Kenny, Jimmy and Frankie.

Eric graduated from Quaboag Regional High School in Warren. He worked as an oil burner technician for many years as well as other home heating oil companies.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, and golfing with family and friends. He spent many times whittling with his boys creating special lifelong memories. Eric was a loving, caring and humorous guy always ready with a joke, his smile always lit up the room. He was compassionate and loved his family and friends very much; all who knew him loved him. He will be missed and will be forever in our hearts.

A Funeral Service for Eric will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield, with his close friend Rev. Chris Nerreau officiating.  A calling hour will be held in the funeral home from 10 to 11AM prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Barre following the funeral service.
