Eric D. Wilson
WARE - Eric D. Wilson, aged 51, of Ware, passed away on May 22, 2024. A devoted father, passionate outdoorsman, and loyal friend, Eric's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
Born on March 29, 1973 in Ware, Eric's love for the outdoors was evident from a young age. He spent countless hours fishing the Quabbin Reservoir for smallmouth bass, teaching Angelica the techniques so she too could receive many state pins. He was always volunteering with the annual Special Olympics Fishing Tournament at the Quabbin Reservoir, fishing the Quaboag River for largemouth bass that he received many state pins for, and fishing the Ware River for trout which he received many more state pins for. He loved exploring the wilderness and was a great huntsman. He enjoyed hunting ducks, geese and turkeys with his dear friends. He shared his love for nature with those closest to him. Whether casting a line or tracking through the woods, Eric found solace and joy in the great outdoors.
Eric's heart was as vast as the landscapes he loved. His greatest pride and joy was his beloved daughter, Angelica. Eric was a guiding light in Angelica's life, teaching her not only the skills of the wild but also the importance of kindness and family.
Eric had many trades, including carpentry. He was devoted to making the perfect piece of wood work, which included urns for local funeral parlors, flag boxes for local veterans, picture frames, bar tops for local clubs, and much more. He enjoyed teaching Angelica woodworking, and they built many birdhouses together. He also framed and finished houses. He also enjoyed making his own trim from antique lumber.
Eric was talented in many ways. Including the talent he had in renovating boats. He enjoyed taking an old boat and refurbishing it.
Known for his trustworthiness and unwavering loyalty, Eric was an incredible and devoted friend to many. A kind and decent man, Eric's spirit of generosity endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Eric Wilson's legacy is one of love and friendship. He leaves behind a world made brighter by his presence and a community bound by the memories they shared with him. He is survived by his daughter, Angelica; his wife, Jill; his mother and father, Darlene (King) and Bernard G. Wilson; his sister, Melanie Wilson; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary (Gatto) and Robert Carter; as well as his sisters-in law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, a host of friends, and his beloved companion Shadow who will forever miss him.
