Evelyn M. Phipps

Warren - Evelyn M. (Brodeur) Phipps, 91, of Carl St., died Thursday, September 20, 2018 in the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.



She leaves a step-son, Alan W. Phipps of Conway, NH; a step-daughter, Marcia M. Terry and her husband David A. Terry of Brookfield; 3 grandchildren, David A. Terry, Jr., Douglas Phipps and Jean Phipps; 3 great-grandchildren; her nephew, Marcus Phipps and his wife Michelle of Monson, her cousins in Northampton, and many friends.  She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Vernon W. Phipps in 2012, a brother, Wilfred Brodeur, Jr. in 2016, and her daughter-in-law, Jean Phipps in 2018.  She was born in Palmer, daughter of the late Wilfred J. and Mary A. (Mulcare) Brodeur, and has lived in Warren for 44 years.



Mrs. Phipps worked as a quality control inspector at the former American Optical Company in Southbridge for 36 years before retiring.   She was a long-time member of St. Stanislaus Church in West Warren.



A Funeral Service for Evelyn will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield.  A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 9 to 10 AM in the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Warren.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Warren Fire Department Ambulance, P.O. Box 608, Warren, MA 01083.
