Brookfield - Evelyn B. Webster, 97, of Brookfield, passed away on the evening of Thursday, July 31, 2025 at her home.
She was the adopted daughter of William L. and Ellen W. (Peterson) Chickering. Evelyn grew up on Elm Hill Farm in Brookfield, and could recall seeing Elsie the Cow there on many occasions. When her parents passed, she went to live with her Uncle Otto Peterson and his family in Sutton until she was married and moved to Northbridge. She was predeceased by her first husband of many years, Henry A. Lubas, as well as her second husband Craig R. Webster. She leaves her children, William H. Lubas of Palmer, and Susanne L. Hilbert of Holland; her grandchildren, Angel Ebbeling (Jerry) of Uxbridge, Darcy Lavallee (Patrice) of Wareham, and Dan Lavallee of Wrentham, as well as 5 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, and her extended family, Brian and Diane Perkins, and dear friends, Mary Gendron and Loni Collette.
Funeral Services for Evelyn will be held privately, with burial in Brookfield Cemetery. Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting her family with her arrangements. An online tribute page is available at varnumfuneralhome.com
