WEST BROOKFIELD: Ezra I. Mattson, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2026. His loving wife on 63 years, Ruth (Secker) Mattson and his son, Frank Mattson both predeceased him. He is survived by his nieces and nephews.

Ezra was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, the son of the late Irving O. Mattson. His family later relocated to the Springfield, Massachusetts area, where he graduated from high school before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. On July 1, 1961, he married the love of his life, Ruth, and together they made their home in Ware, Massachusetts, where they raised their son, Frank. Ezra dedicated more than 43 years to a concrete manufacturing company before retiring.

Ezra cherished time with his family and enjoyed annual vacations to Maine, as well as visits with relatives in upstate New York. These trips created many treasured memories that he fondly shared throughout the years.

His urn will be placed with his wife Ruth and his son Frank's urns in the columbarium in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon at a later time.  Services will be private.
