Dudley - Fay M. (Shields) Salmon, 83, of Dudley, and formerly of Warren, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge.
She was born in Kingston, Jamaica, daughter of the late David and Louise (Shakes) Shields. She leaves her son, Anthony Salmon and his wife Anne, of Warren, MA, her son, Collin Salmon and his wife Michelle, of Dudley, MA; her sisters, Lyn Nunes of FL, and Patricia Blackwood, of Port Saint Lucie, FL; her brother, Joslyn Shields, of Jamaica; her grandson, Shaun, whom she raised as a son, her grandson, Maxwell, her granddaughters, Britney, Ashley, and Kiana, and her grandson, Jaden; as well as three beloved great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Laurel E. Salmon; her son, Mario Salmon, of Worcester; and her daughter Marjorie Salmon, of FL.
Fay was a Timekeeper at former Rex Nord Co./Worcester, MA for many years. Following retirement, she and Laurel moved to Florida to escape the New England cold.
Fay was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing dominoes, and traveling to Manchester, England, and to Jamaica to visit family and friends.
She spent much of her time at the Warren Senior Center, where she would help the elderly with their exercises. She also enjoyed helping the elderly in Florida, where she would work with them on aerobics.
Per Fay, and the family's request, services will be held privately.
